Ccny Fall 2023 Calendar – New year, new class of BIC members ready to make a breakthrough and change the world! Our Class of 2023 arrived on the City College campus for a welcome lunch and BIC orientation on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. Greeted by blue skies and open windows, the day was filled with learning activities, advice and networking tips. It ended later that evening at the Baylander, a floating bar on the Hudson, as the last of our new class joined the graduating class of 2022 to begin fall semester. While orientation is always special, this year was especially touching because for the first time since March 2020, BIC students and faculty once again gathered on campus.
The BIC Class of 2023 consists of 25 students from different countries including Venezuela, Peru and Nigeria. But this year was dominated by New Yorkers, with many BIC users calling New York City home.

The incoming class brings a variety of undergraduate experiences from renowned institutions such as Cornell University, Vassar, Sarah Lawrence, New York University, Drexel, University of Colorado, Pace, VCU as well as colleges in the CUNY system such as Hunter, City College and City. The orientation began with a welcome from BIC Program Director Nancy R. Tag, who spoke about the program. One of the highlights of the day was the annual design thinking exercise. Ph.D. The Chemical Engineering program prepares selected students for advanced careers in academia, national laboratories, and industry. Our program is highly competitive with the strength of research in energy, materials and interfaces, transport processes, and biological and environmental engineering.
