Iupui Academic Calendar 2023 – The Multidisciplinary Graduate Research Institute (MURI) creates and supports multidisciplinary research teams during the academic year and summer, consisting of undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, senior staff, and faculty. These groups provide undergraduate students with a unique opportunity to gain research skills by working with mentors on real-world problems.

Undergraduate Research Program (UROP) grants are available for one academic year or summer to support faculty-led independent research. Students can apply for a grant or fund for research materials.

The Diversity Research Scholarship Program (DSRP) is a performance-based scholarship for academically talented first-time or incoming transfer students. Students from historically underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply to higher education and will enhance the learning environment by increasing diversity at IUPUI.

Indiana University's Responding to the Addiction Crisis Grand Challenge, along with the Indiana State Museum, is hosting a panel discussion on ways community members can come together to shift the conversation about substance use.

"Indiana has made great strides in addressing the opioid crisis affecting millions of Hoosiers across the state," said Robin Newhouse, dean of the School of Nursing, distinguished professor and principal investigator of the grand challenge.

A new report by researchers at IUPUI's Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health outlines a unique, actionable framework Indiana leaders can use to address the state's rising health care costs.

The report, "Addressing Factors Affecting Health Care Costs: Recommendations for Indiana Stakeholders," was led by Nir Menachemi, Richard M. Fairbanks Endowed Chair, professor and Department of Health Policy and Management, and Paul Halverson, professor and founding director of the Fairbanks School of Public Health Dean. The report is designed to help lead Indiana in a statewide strategic plan to reduce health care costs — primarily through a concerted effort to improve the health of Hoosiers.
