Humble Isd Calendar 2023-24 – Wow. M. Gee!!!! Although summer has been great and we've been enjoying the warm weather, it's almost time to wrap up summer and send the kids back to school!

How did you handle the crazy heat this summer? Did you just drown in your surroundings like me, or did you come out sizzling? Anyway, I think I echo all moms when I say: Let's go back to school!

State law requires that the first day of the 2022-2023 school year be August 22. The calendar was developed in the fall of 2021 by a committee that included teachers, parents, community members and staff, according to a district news release.

Tomball Isd Adds A New Student Holiday For 2022 23, 2023 24 School Years

The Pop in Your Library Tour program returns to the LSC-CyFair library January 24-27, February 31. 3 and 7-10. Librarian visits will last 30 minutes or less and no registration is required. Participants can meet near the entrance to the LSC-CyFair Technology Building and will be entered for a chance to win.

"These three-week introductory visits help reduce the barrier of library anxiety for students and community users," reference librarian Liz Nebeker said in a college news release. "Obilets cover library resources and services available to support success in classroom and community projects. Learn 'what to do' in the library and meet our librarians who are 'resource experts' here to serve you."

Franklin Sampson, Cy-Fair ISD director of guidance and counseling, has been elected to the Lone Star State School Counselors Association office of vice president of educator advisors.

"This will be a great opportunity and will allow me to continue to give back to others," Sampson said in a press release. "Every day I make it part of my mission to do whatever I can to make a difference in someone's life. Serving in this capacity will help our organization rise to greater heights. I have the unique position of overseeing approximately 300 school counselors, 19 social workers, four mental health intervention counselors, and one substance use counselor. I will continue to use my influence to enter this wonderful association."

Cy-Fair ISD had 18 wrestlers medal at the 19th CFISD Invitational in January, including two individual championships.

The Cypress Ranch High School girls wrestlers finished as the top CFISD school, while the Cypress Ranch boys topped all CFISD teams in the boys tournament.

Kahla High School students and staff held bears for the Blue Drive, collecting new and used stuffed animals for the CFISD Police Department and other law enforcement departments.

According to a district press release, 160 stuffed animals were collected and will be given to children in need.

Kelsey Jackson, Kahler's classroom paraprofessional, and secretary Dolores Fraler planned the drive as an opportunity for students to help others. The ride started on January 5th and ended on January 13th.

Mentor Team Update

"It was a community service project," Jackson said. "I've talked to some economically disadvantaged kids and I've heard them talk about giving their stuffed animals to someone else who might need them. They get something in return, but it's not real. It's a good act of service."

Humble ISD has updated its calendar for the upcoming school year with minor changes. Humble ISD's calendar has been updated in three areas:

Ogden Elementary School

Due to the recent release of STAAR, 2 of the late arrival dates to high school campuses have been moved (Thursday 4/20/23 and Thursday 4/27/23) as those dates now fall within the state testing window. Added one (Thursday 4/13/23) as it is now outside the scope of state testing.

Monday, 28.11.22. The basic holiday/staff working day has been changed from a holiday for elementary students/students/staff to a regular day for elementary students and staff. This change will allow more instructional minutes to be accumulated so that, in the event of a temporary closure due to inclement weather, the school may not have to make up another day as the extra minutes will be "paid in".

High schools will continue early dismissal days on the last day of the term (Thursday, December 15, 2022 and Thursday, May 25, 2023), as well as another date, according to comments from the Board of Supervisors of Secondary Teachers. Last day of each semester. High schools have enough instructional minutes in their annual schedule to allow for two release days at the end of the semester. However, secondary schools and primary schools will release early on the last day of each term due to annual minutes.

They must ensure that summer workers receive a paid holiday for the 4th of July each year. Now, if it falls on a weekend, you have no more days off. According to the press release, the approved calendar begins with classes on August 10 and ends on May 25, the day before Memorial Day. It provides nine weeks of summer vacation for teachers and 10 ½ weeks for students.

The calendar offers five days of staff development before school starts and 4 ½ days of staff development during the school year.

The holiday structure will remain traditional, with one week for Thanksgiving, two weeks for winter break and one week for spring break. Spring break will be aligned with most school districts in the area.

In order to meet the requirements of the Texas Education Agency, 175 days of instruction for students and 187 contract days for teachers are planned, with a minimum of 75,600 minutes of work.

In the event of school cancellations due to weather, the calendar plans for 1,185 additional operating minutes, above the TEA minimum requirement of 840 minutes. February 20 and April 10 will serve as additional days for determining the time.
