Mcgill Academic Calendar 2023-2024 – Incoming MPP Max Bell School students Linda Bye, Sandrine Desforges and Julian Lam are three of 20 leaders selected from 700 applicants for the university's second class of McCall MacBain Scholars.

This year, the university's Max Bell School attracted three McCall MacBain Scholars to join its four Master of Public Policy students.

The McCall MacBain Scholars Program is a selective graduate scholarship that allows students to pursue a fully funded graduate or professional degree while connecting with mentors and participating in an intensive leadership development program.

"Our new scholars have taken different paths and will bring unique perspectives to the scholarship community," said Natasha Sa, McCall McBain's dean of scholarship. "The selection committee looks for characteristics such as leadership potential, a willingness to engage with different perspectives, empathy, integrity and seriousness. Our process brings together a diverse group of volunteer readers and interviewers who know the candidates and their diverse experiences.

Originally from Richmond, BC, Julian Lamb graduated this year from the University of British Columbia with a distinguished record of involvement on campus. Lam contributed to the UBC International Relations Student Association for more than two years, creating a podcast, managing external relations, organizing a speaking series and later serving as the organization's president.
