College Spring Break Vacation Dates 2023

Marist College Emerald's curriculum is structured around the College Curriculum Framework This document serves as an overview of the general and specialized courses offered to Marist College staff who are guided in their curriculum development by the College's curriculum philosophy as follows:

Marist College Emerald aims to graduate students with the qualities of lifelong learners. The course of study is the pursuit of personal goals through student identity and Marist character. The college endeavors to inculcate the awareness of employability and responsibilities among the students through relevant and dynamic curriculum.

In Years 7 and 8 students alternate between six core subjects (English, Maths, Science, HASS (Humanities and Social Studies), Religious Education and Health and Physical Education) and 8 Arts and Technology subjects over two years.

Four Marist Programs Earn Perfect Multiyear Apr Score

Catholic Education makes it compulsory for students in Years 11 and 12 to take English, Maths and Religion courses and our students study a total of six subjects with various VET, Authority and Authority registered subjects.

A formal assessment calendar is compiled for each year level and sent to students and parents for all assessment items for the term to follow the syllabus outlined in the recognized Work Program (WP) for each subject. A separate examination schedule for each year level is also coordinated for the end of each semester

The College has an assessment policy for students and staff which applies to all subjects offered including plagiarism, moderation and an assessed attendance system.

Parents have report cards at the end of each term; Attitude Reports in Terms 1 and 3, Detailed Reports in Terms 2 and 4 Teachers are encouraged to keep students fully informed of student progress or deficits, especially in such cases, when conducting formal parent/teacher interviews twice a year. Repeated failure to complete homework or written assignments We encourage the use of the College Diary as an appropriate means of communication.
