Those new to beekeeping can take a beginner's course, while more experienced beekeepers can participate in hands-on beekeeping training, bee research courses and other beekeeping topics. The UF/IFAS Honey Judge* Training and Honey Show will be held at Spring Bee College on March 17-18, 2023.

This training will be led by Welsh Senior Honey Judge Michael Young. This event can be your first entry into the UF/IFAS Bee Judge program or a continuation of your training in the program. New and current candidates and judges are encouraged to attend training and join the Bee Show.
If you're new to the program, there's a lot to look forward to! You will learn the skills and techniques needed to prepare your Honey Show entries, as well as how to judge them. Below is an outline of the program. You can use this information and training as a focus in the UF/IFAS graduate beekeeping program, and reaping the rewards of bees and other products from the hive is a source of pride and accomplishment. – An achievement that will increase the recognition and value of friends, colleagues, partners and customers.

Advanced Practice: Saturday's practice will focus on wax, dough and cream, and honey. Ask questions about the performance classes you need to work on the most. Let's take a look at how you can move from the show bench to high-profile shows where your entry needs to be flawless to make the cut. Bring your portfolio if you need something to see when you attend the show as a member or participant and earn points to be tested to become an expert or senior judge.
