Evsc Calendar 2023 – As the Indiana Legislature changed the requirements for how Indiana's school systems use virtual "e-learning" days, or as some call them, the Evansville-Vanderburg School District announced Wednesday that it is making changes to the calendar. next academic year 2022-23.
House Bill 1093 passed with bipartisan support earlier this year and was signed into law by Gov. Eric Holcomb on March 15. As schools across the state gradually returned students to their classrooms, students and parents worried about the spread of the virus continued to have virtual learning experiences. As cases declined and more schools required students to be in the classroom, many continued to use virtual school days instead of months or days of teacher training. The new law limits school companies to only three days of virtual learning per school year. The law also requires these days to include at least 50% teacher-led classes, meaning that students must be at their computers during the scheduled lesson as if they were in the school building. As is now the case with the Virtual School Day, teachers give assignments that their students can work on at their own pace throughout the day.
