To be admitted to Southern, strong candidates must achieve a minimum GPA of 2.7 on the 4.0 scale and rank in the top 50% of their graduation class.
Applicants must be in high school or hold an official high school diploma prior to enrollment.

Ce Programs & Courses
SCSU does not require a letter of recommendation, but a student may request it when applying.
South has an exam-choice admissions policy. No SAT or ACT scores are required for admission. A letter of recommendation is not required.
Application Fee Waiver: (A) An application fee waiver is granted to students with financial need to take the SAT I exam and receive a SAT fee waiver. or (B) a member of CONNTAC-EOC or an accredited educational institution. or (C) CSU-approved special opportunity programs such as CONNCAP or Upward Bound. or (D) the opinion of the President of the University or representative of special circumstances. 12/18/14 per Connecticut Governor's Committee. Biology Studies Degree
Check out the AP area to get credit for your high school AP exams. Official transcripts must be sent to undergraduate admissions.
If you are interested in receiving credit for the International Baccalaureate (IB) exam, please review the International Baccalaureate Policy. Official transcripts must be sent to undergraduate admissions.
If you are earning college credit while in high school through the Early College Experience program, you must provide official college transcripts.

Southern is proud of our commitment to student success and social justice. We strive to serve Connecticut and our region by instilling in all students the values of the arts and sciences as a foundation for professional development and lifelong learning. In that sense, Southern has an exam selection policy for those who do not need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Applicants can decide for themselves whether the test results best reflect their academic abilities and potential.
In line with the recommendations of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling, we believe that high school learning and achievement are more important to college success than grades on standardized tests, and there is ample evidence to support this. All applicants may apply according to the exam selection policy. This includes home inspectors, high school applicants who give written grades rather than grades, middle school/high school applicants, and GED recipients.
Southern accepts its own independent screening scores* for admissions purposes. Applicants who have declared their scores and have been approved Applicants who choose to attend Southern must submit official scores from the testing institution or official school transcripts prior to enrollment.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
*Student athletes may be required to submit ACT or SAT scores to the NCAA for athletic eligibility. Nursing, social work, and education all require separate admission to the program and may require standardized test scores as part of their requirements.
* English proficiency is not included in this policy. Students who are required to submit TOEFL, IELTS or DET must submit official transcripts when submitting their application.
In Connecticut, first-year applications are assigned to high school-based counselors. Sc State University
Last day for a 25% tuition refund if you leave CSU before 5pm on January 20th; No refunds after this date (Day, Night and ACC I)
Deadline for withdrawal from ACC Class I for "W" by 5pm on February 17th
March 17th ACC II is the last day for reservations until 5pm. If you leave CSU before 5pm on the last day, you will receive a full tuition refund. (ACC II only)
Minnetonka High School Skipperettes Dance Team
The last day to receive a 25% tuition refund if you leave CSU before 5pm on March 23rd. (ACC II only)
April 18, the last day of withdrawing all classes (day and night) in "W" grades and the last day of formal withdrawal by the University at 5:00 PM.
Deadline for withdrawal from ACC Class II in "W" by 5pm on April 21st
Admission For First Year Students
The deadline to withdraw from Spring I classes in "W" grades on January 27th is 5:00pm.
The deadline to withdraw from Class II "W" Class II waters on March 2nd is 5:00 PM.
The deadline to withdraw from Class II "W" Class II waters on April 13 is 5:00 PM.
Political Science Studies Degree
The deadline for cancellation of class "W" in Summer I class on June 17th is 5:00 PM.
The deadline to withdraw from Summer II classes in "W" class on July 22 is 5:00 PM.
September 7th is the last day to withdraw from Fall I classes in "W" until 5pm.
San Francisco State University
The deadline for graduating with a "W" from the Fall II class on October 12th is 5pm.
The deadline to withdraw from Fall III classes in "W" grades on November 16th is 5pm.
January 7 Deadline for registration or deletion/addition of classes for Term 1; If you leave CSU on the last day, you will receive a full refund of your tuition.
Warhawk Weekly 6 1: Faculty Service Award; Basketball Summer Camps
May 20 Class registration or deletion/addition deadline 3 minutes; If you leave CSU on the last day, you will receive a full refund of your tuition.
August 19 Deadline for registration or additional deadlines for Term 4; The last day of full tuition refund if you drop out of CSU This program is designed to enable Connecticut Community College students to transfer to Connecticut State University and Charter Oak State University without losing or earning more credits, the CSCU TAP program. This is a degree transfer course. Pursuing a bachelor's degree in the same field.
